French Boy (Single) by Dana Boulé
My humble contribution to the French Boy video
Like all of the recordings on this site, I recorded and co-produced French Boy, but the real story is the video.
The French Boy video shoot was one of the funnest (is that really not a word?) things I’ve done in recent years, although I didn’t actually do it.
But I was present.
Dana, when she lived in Brooklyn, enrolled in a martial arts class that was fortuitously populated by several entirely talented, motivated, productive, entertaining, beautiful, friendly, funny, delightful, and fit people.
Happily, I was lucky enough to join them in Princeton, NJ one summer weekend to shoot a riotous video for French Boy, a Euro-Pop dance track that had no chance of finding a home on the album.
An adventure!
I helped haul equipment from location to location, and I managed the playback of the audio--as seen in the photo to the left--but mostly I volunteered because I knew it would be a blast...and it was!
You can see the blast in the video itself. A riot.
We shot on the battlefield of Princeton, on the Princeton campus, and at the scenic facility where Einstein used to work. (I forget what it’s called but it’s impressive and gorgeous. Trust me.)
By the way, that’s Adrianne Jorge, the director of Go Away. She’s a riot!
