Ryan White on bass and sax, Ben Hoyumpa on skins, and myself on guitar and vocals, we were the last incarnation of bluecanoe. I believe there were 6 incarnations in all.

L-Shaped Room was never released. It was recorded in our L-shaped studio at 5th Street and Trinity in Austin.  

Sadly the studio is now burned out.

Understand was later recorded on Stupid’s first album, sung by Dana, but this is my favorite version.

Woman was later recorded in a much more lush, down-tempo version on Bug Fights. But we had a great time playing this one.

Roller Coaster features one of the few guitar solos I’ve ever recorded. It’s not so bad, but I don’t expect awards.

In My Head was co-written by my excellent good friend Ryan White. Really it was mostly written by Ryan. He brought in the music, including the vocal melody and I just wrote some angry lyrics. Come to think of it, the chorus isn’t all that angry. Ryan must have written it.
